NYSC Charges Corps Members On Creativity, Self-Employment

Corps Members have been advised to develop their skills and embrace the dignity of labour while striving towards self-employment.
The Director-General, NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, gave this advice today at the FCT Orientation Camp in Kubwa while addressing the 2020 Batch ‘B’ Corps Members deployed to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js">
He urged them to acquire skills that would make them wealth creators instead of seeking scarcely available white collar jobs.
The Director-General admonished the Corps Members to embrace the NYSC SKill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme that was introduced to make them self-reliant.
“Don’t wait for white collar jobs. Respect the dignity of labour, be focused and be committed. Discover your talents and work towards harnessing them and the sky will be your limit”, he said.
Ibrahim also advised them to key into Federal Government’s Youth Investment Trust Fund and National Young Farmers’ Scheme, especially for those of them interested in agriculture.
While educating the Corps Members on the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC, the DG advised them to be patriotic and always be of good conduct adding, “As future leaders, you must be exemplary in your conduct and serve as role models.”
He also urged the Corps Members to avoid negative use of the social media, but use them for the promotion of national unity and integration.
“Shun religious intolerance and ethnic bigotry. Be in the vanguad for the promotion of national unity and integration” he said.
The Director-General also advised them to be security conscious, avoid social vices and any act capable of jeopardizing their future.
He warned the Corps Members against embarking on unauthorised journeys and movements at night.
“Please, don’t compromise your safety. Don’t travel at night, be COVID-19 safety compliant and use the opportunities of NYSC service year as a platform to excel in life”, the Director-General said.
A total of 619 Prospective Corps Members comprising 104 males and 515 females took the Oath of Allegiance which was administered by Justice Modupe Osho Adebiyi on behalf of The FCT Acting Chief Judge, Honourable Justice Salisu Garba.

Kogi State Govt, MTN Resolves Long-standing Dispute

The Kogi State Government has resolved its long-standing dispute with MTN Nigeria over tax remittance and operational compliance.
This is contained in a press release dated May 22, 2025 and signed by the Press Secretary to the Kogi State Deputy Governor, Unubi Emmanuel
The meeting, held Wednesday at the Government House in Lokoja, was initiated by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and chaired by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu.
Governor Ododo, through his Deputy called on corporate organizations to adhere to tax obligations and operational protocols in their relationship with the government.
He described recent disagreement with the telecom operator that led to service disruptions in the state as a routine challenge in institutional relationships.
The Governor lauded the role of the NCC in mediating in the impasse and acknowledged the willingness of all parties to respect agreements reached by the parties.
He emphasized that Kogi remains open for business, assuring investors of a conducive environment to operate and thrive.
Ealier, Engr. Abraham Oshadami, who spoke on behalf of the National Communications Commission (NCC) revealed that both MTN Nigeria and the state government have agreed to a mutually acceptable terms of settlement of outstanding debts owed Kogi state government by the telecoms operator.
He commmended Governor Ododo for fostering policies that support businesses to grow, adding that the peaceful resolution of the face-off would boost investor confidence and benefit the people of the state.
The meeting was attended by Hon. Hilary Ojoma Egwudah, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor; Alhaji Sule Salihu Enehe, Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS); Alhaji Taofik Isah, Director General of the Kogi State Utility, Infrastructure Management and Compliance Agency (KUIMCA); and Engr. Abraham Oshadami, Executive Commissioner for Technical Services at the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC), among others.

NLM Confirms Appointment of the National Director Mobilization and Contact Suleiman Yunisa

The Nigeria Liberty Movement, NLM has officially confirms the appointment of its National Director, Mobilization and Contact, Alhaji Suleiman Yunusa.
The taking of oats of office which takes place at the National Headquarter of the party in Abuja, Tuesday, May 13th, 2025, shortly before the official merger of Allied Peoples Party, APM and NLM saw NEC and party big wigs in attendance.
During the ceremony, the National Chairman, NLM, Ambassador Thompson Mesach said the capacity leader has demonstrated his capacity in the area of grassroots mobilization, and so merit the confirmation calling for more commitment and dedication to the success of NLM.
In his acceptance, Alhaji Suleiman Yunusa said this is a call for action as he will continue to do what he has been known for, which is grassroots mobilization.
He most especially thanks the National Leader, Nigerian Liberty Movements, NLM, Ambassador Moses O. Adebisi, PhD, (aka THISDAYSMOSES, AL MUSA) the National Chairman, Ambassador Thompson Mesach and other National Executive Members for the recognition of his contributions to the growth of NLM.
He further thanks his mobilization team members, stakeholders and well-wishers across the country for their supports, commitment, charging them to not relent in their efforts and be more resilient in their mobilization efforts.

NLM-APM-Merger: National Director Mobilization and Contact Says Merger, Calls for Collaborative Synergy.

Alhaji Suleiman Yunusa, the National Director, Mobilization and Contact, Nigeria Liberty Movement, NLM says there is need for every stakeholders in Allied Peoples Movement, APM and Nigeria Liberty Movement to collaborate in a way that would see to the fruitfulness of the NLM political ideology.

A Capacity Leader that has been in the forefront of grass root mobilization for NLM made this statement during an official merger and release of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC certificate by APM to NLM in Abuja, today Tuesday, May 13th, 2025.
Yunusa while commending the wisdom of the leadership and stakeholders of APM to merge with NLM said, “as the historic event of today has put the necessary power in the hands of NLM to fully partake and participate in any future political activities in Nigeria, we now need to put NLM ideology of creating a new breed of leadership to full motion and be in a continual collaborative synergy that will see to the empowerment of the down trodden.”
Hon Yunua thereby calls for continued supports and commitments of its mobilization team members, stakeholders and well-wishers across the country to go all out for grass root mobilization as this is a national call to action.
He also said, “I thank the Founder and the incumbent Chairman of the Allied Peoples Party, APM, Alhaji Muhammadu Musa Bagana, for his leadership and wisdom in merging with Nigeria Liberty Movement, NLM.”
“I also thank the National Chairman, Ambassador mesach Thompson, the National Director, Coalition, HRH, Ogah Attah Alhaji Tijani Musa and the National Director of Operation, Otunba Kingsly Adejumo for your sagacity and doggedness in seeing that the merger is a success”.
“I also each and everyone here that leave whatever you are doing and be here today to witness this epoch making event as it unfolds.”, he continued.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Muhammadu Musa Bagana, Founder and the incumbent Chairman of the Allied Peoples Party, APM said it is time to focus and dump any selfish interest now that the merger has put the necessary political power in the hands of NLM.
Bagana that is ably represented by APM National Organising Secretary/Personal Assistant to The Chairman, APM, Pastor Frank Oluwa said, “we are now full members of NLM and we ceased to operate as APM and I am saying this with full authority in the power vested on me.”
“I have the full authority to speak here today on behalf of the National Chairman and I am ably representing him here today. And if you are in doubt, you can put a call across to him and confirm it that this what somebody is saying now.”
He further admonished the leadership of Nigeria Liberty Movement to make a judicious use of the merger as the certificate is released to NLM on a platter of Gold.
